AP - stronger corporate earnings and signs of a stronger labour market lifted stocks Thursday. Software company Red Hat Inc., chipmaker Micron Technology Inc., and Chief Boyardee maker ConAgra Foods Inc., which beat expectations all reported profits. The Government said fewer people applied for benefits for unemployment last week, evidence that will slow redundancies.
